Vin Diesel Calls Out Dwayne Johnson Amid ‘Fast & Furious’ Feud at the 2025 Golden Globes

The long-standing tension between Fast & Furious stars Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson has been a topic of public interest for years, and it seems the feud is still alive, despite recent attempts at reconciliation. During the 2025 Golden Globe Awards on January 5th, Vin Diesel took a subtle jab at Dwayne Johnson, reigniting the drama between the two action stars.

Vin Diesel, who appeared on stage to present the award for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, paused briefly to address Dwayne in the audience, sending a pointed message. Though brief, Diesel’s remark seemed to reference their ongoing issues dating back to 2016, when tensions first erupted during the filming of The Fate of the Furious.

The Fast & Furious conflict began when Dwayne Johnson posted a scathing message on Instagram, calling some of his male co-stars “chickens” and “candy asses” without naming anyone specifically. It was later confirmed that he was referring to Vin Diesel, which sparked a public feud. Over the years, the two stars have had differing views on how to handle their disagreement, with Diesel trying to keep things civil and Johnson expressing frustration with certain aspects of their relationship.

Despite these tensions, Diesel made a public plea in 2021 for Dwayne to return to the franchise, writing on Instagram that Fast & Furious fans wanted to see the return of “Uncle Dwayne.” Diesel also invoked the memory of late co-star Paul Walker, urging Johnson to be part of the franchise’s future. Dwayne, however, was not impressed by the message and criticized Diesel for bringing up personal matters, including his children and Walker’s passing.

Fast forward to 2023, and the two seemed to make amends when Dwayne Johnson announced his return to the Fast & Furious franchise for Fast X: Part Two in 2026. The actor shared that he and Diesel had “put all the pasts behind us,” but it seems that some unresolved issues remain.

At the Golden Globes, Diesel’s message towards Johnson suggests that while they may have patched things up publicly, there is still underlying tension. Fans will have to wait and see how this feud evolves, especially with their long-awaited reunion in the upcoming Fast X sequel.
