According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s records, Baena’s cause of death was suicide. He was found on January 3rd at a residence in the city. Baena, a graduate of New York University’s Film School, was widely recognized for his collaborations with Aubrey Plaza on films such as Life After Beth (2014), Joshy, The Little Hours, and Spin Me Round.
