Oscar De La Hoya accuses Eddie Hearn of dating his own Boxing champion
Boxing promoter Oscar De La Hoya has leveled serious allegations against fellow promoter Eddie Hearn, claiming an inappropriate relationship between Hearn and WBC Featherweight champion Skye Nicolson.
During his weekly “Clap Back Thursdays” Instagram series, which has since been deleted, De La Hoya didn’t hold back as he addressed what he believes to be concerning behavior from the married boxing promoter.
“The co-founder of Jake Paul’s company, Most Valuable Promotions, Nakisa Bidarian, is questioning your erratic behavior. I think I may know the answer. It’s no secret that Eddie and Skye Nicolson have been linked romantically since 2022. Rumors have been flying about them in the boxing community for years,” De La Hoya stated.
The former champion turned promoter went further, sharing what he claims is evidence of questionable conduct. “Here you are in Miami with Skye outside a club, you look mighty uncomfortable walking away from the camera as soon as you saw it. You guys look pretty cozy,” he said.
De La Hoya suggested this alleged relationship has affected Hearn’s professional judgment, particularly regarding match-making decisions. “When you should’ve been focused on promoting the trilogy between Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor, which would likely be the biggest fight ever in women’s history, you were focused immediately on setting up your rumored girlfriend to fight Amanda Serrano.”
Concluding his statements with a personal jab, De La Hoya remarked, “No wonder you’re like 0-16 this year; you’re distracted as hell. Eddie, I know you’re a trust fund kid, and nobody showed you how men are supposed to behave.”
Reports indicate that Hearn has instructed multiple YouTube content creators that he won’t discuss matters regarding Nicolson. However, he has expressed willingness to address De La Hoya’s accusations through proper channels.
