Congratulations are in order for Gypsy Rose Blanchard! The 32-year-old has given birth to her first child, a beautiful baby girl named Aurora, with her partner Ken Urker. The proud father shared the news, saying, “Aurora is healthy and we are so happy.”
Gypsy, who gained widespread attention following the murder of her mother, Dee Blanchard, and her subsequent imprisonment, shared the news of her pregnancy back in July. In an emotional YouTube video, she revealed that she and Ken were expecting their first child, due in January 2025. Gypsy expressed her excitement, saying, “I’m happy to announce that I am 11 weeks pregnant. Ken and I are expecting our very first child. We’re both very excited. This was not planned at all. It was completely unexpected, but we’re both looking forward to this new chapter.”
The former inmate, who served seven years in prison after being convicted of her mother’s murder, has previously claimed that her mother suffered from Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a form of child abuse in which a caregiver fabricates or induces medical conditions in their child. In her announcement, Gypsy shared her hopes of becoming the kind of mother she wished she had as a child. “It’s an amazing feeling when your whole world shifts, and suddenly it’s not about you—it’s not about anything other than the tiny little life inside you that you are now in charge of protecting,” she said tearfully. “I want to give this baby all the things that I wanted in a mother.”
Gypsy and Ken began their relationship in 2017 when she was still incarcerated. They got engaged in 2018 but broke up the following year. In 2022, Gypsy married schoolteacher Ryan Anderson, but they separated in March 2023, just a few months after Gypsy’s release from prison. In April 2023, Gypsy and Ken rekindled their romance, and now, they have welcomed their daughter.
