DeAndre Rose, the brother of the late Stephen “tWitch” Boss, and his close friend, dancer Courtney Anne Platt, have publicly criticized Allison Holker following the release of her tell-all memoir, This Far: My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light. The memoir, in which Holker opens up about the private struggles of her late husband, has sparked controversy, especially over her recent claims about tWitch’s secret life.
In an interview with People magazine, Holker revealed disturbing details about her late husband’s life that she uncovered after his passing. She described finding hidden drugs, including mushrooms and pills, inside tWitch’s closet just days before his funeral. This revelation shocked her, as she had no knowledge of these substances before. Holker also mentioned discovering journal entries in which tWitch hinted at past trauma, including sexual abuse during his childhood, leading her to believe there was much her husband had kept hidden from her.
In response to these claims, Courtney Anne Platt took to Instagram to slam Holker for using tWitch’s memory for personal gain. Platt called the memoir “tacky” and “classless,” accusing Holker of smearing tWitch’s name for financial reasons. She added that tWitch would have never wanted his name dragged through the mud in this way, regardless of any personal pain he may have been experiencing.
DeAndre Rose also expressed his support for Platt’s criticism by resharing her post on his Instagram story with the caption, “No lies told.” The controversy continued to stir in the comments section of Holker’s posts, where some fans expressed sadness, feeling that the revelations were inappropriate and disrespectful to tWitch’s legacy.
In response to the backlash, Holker defended herself, saying she will always love tWitch and that her intentions in sharing these personal stories were to help others feel safe in asking for support and guidance during difficult times.
The situation remains divisive, with some supporting Holker’s decision to share her truth, while others believe it tarnishes the memory of the beloved entertainer. Holker has yet to respond to additional requests for comment.
