Kelly Rowland has addressed the recent clash she had with a security guard at the Cannes Film Festival during the premiere of “Marcelo Mio.” The Destiny’s Child star found herself in a heated moment, which was captured in photos showing her pointing at a woman on the red carpet.

Speaking to AP about the incident, Kelly said, “The woman knows what happened; I know what happened. I have a boundary, and I stand by those boundaries.” She noted that other women on the carpet, who did not share her appearance, were treated differently. “I stood my ground, and she felt like she had to stand hers, but I stood my ground,” she added.

Despite the tense encounter, Kelly did not let it affect her experience at the festival. She returned to the red carpet the next day for the premiere of “The Count of Monte Cristo.” The Cannes Film Festival has strict protocols, including a formal dress code, but the organizers have yet to clarify the reason behind Kelly being asked to leave.

Cannes has specific rules that prohibit attendees from taking selfies on the steps and using cell phones inside screening theaters, reflecting the event’s stringent nature.

This isn’t the first time Kelly has stood up for herself. Earlier this year, she walked off the set of “Today” over a dressing room issue, but the show later welcomed her back. Host Hoda Kotb expressed her admiration for Kelly, saying, “I have great love and admiration for Kelly Rowland. I adore her and want her to come back on the show.”
