SZA Teams Up with Kendrick Lamar for a Joint Tour
SZA and Kendrick Lamar have officially announced that they will be going on a joint stadium tour next year, called the “Grand National Tour.” And I have to say, I’m really excited about it! I’ve seen SZA live before, and she is an incredible performer. As for Kendrick Lamar, he’s one of the best hip-hop performers out there right now, top three in my opinion, alongside Tyler, the Creator and Doja Cat. They both know how to put on an unforgettable show!
With Kendrick headlining the Super Bowl halftime show next year, this tour is going to be massive. It’s definitely going to boost ticket sales. However, the prices for the tickets are a bit high, so I expect nothing less than a top-tier production. I have high expectations for this tour, but I’m confident that SZA and Kendrick will deliver, and I can’t wait to give you my review when I attend.
Did SZA Betray Drake by Joining Kendrick Lamar’s Tour?
Now, some people are questioning whether SZA is betraying Drake by teaming up with Kendrick Lamar. SZA and Drake have had a long relationship, dating back to when they were rumored to have dated in the late 2000s. At the time, SZA was around 19, and Drake was in his early 20s, but there was some confusion about her age. She clarified that she wasn’t underage, but it was an issue that some people speculated about.
Over the years, Drake has always spoken highly of SZA and defended her when DJ Akademiks made negative comments about her weight. He even called Akademiks personally to say SZA is a close friend, and her feelings were hurt by such remarks. They’ve worked together on multiple songs, so there’s always been a strong relationship between them.
But now that SZA is joining Kendrick for this joint tour, some fans feel like she’s betraying Drake. However, what people may not realize is that SZA and Kendrick have always had a good working relationship. They were once label mates at TDE, and they’ve collaborated multiple times in the past. So, it’s not shocking to see SZA working with Kendrick, as they’ve always been friends and collaborators.
Some fans are even accusing SZA of being a “mole,” claiming that she was collecting information from Drake to bring back to Kendrick. They suggest that SZA used her relationship with Drake to boost her career and is now going back to Kendrick Lamar.
Personally, I think SZA is just out for herself. She’s doing what’s best for her career, and this tour with Kendrick makes sense from both a business and a personal standpoint. TDE may not be managing Kendrick anymore, but it’s clear that SZA’s success benefits both her and TDE, and it’s a mutually beneficial situation. Kendrick can benefit from the tour, and SZA can continue to grow her fanbase.
In my opinion, there’s no betrayal here—just two artists working together for their own success.
