Justin Baldoni’s Ex-Publicist Sues Him Amid Blake Lively Drama

A new twist has emerged in the ongoing drama surrounding Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively. Just days after Blake Lively filed a legal complaint accusing her former co-star of sexual harassment and allegedly orchestrating a smear campaign against her, Justin Baldoni’s ex-publicist, Stephanie Jones, has filed a lawsuit of her own.

On December 24th, Jones filed a lawsuit naming Baldoni, his company Wayfarer Studios, and publicists Jennifer Abel and Melissa Nathan. These publicists are also named in Blake Lively’s recent complaint, which was filed just days earlier.

According to the lawsuit, which was reviewed by E! News, Jones claims that Abel and Nathan secretly conspired for months to attack her and her work, both publicly and privately. She alleges that they breached multiple contracts, induced others to do the same, and worked to steal clients and business opportunities.

Stephanie Jones also states that Jennifer, who worked at her firm until the summer, and Melissa coordinated behind her back with Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios. They allegedly initiated an aggressive media smear campaign targeting Baldoni’s co-star, Blake Lively, referencing the same smear campaign that Blake Lively has accused Baldoni of orchestrating in her legal complaint.

Jones further claims that Abel and Nathan took advantage of the situation to drive a wedge between her and Baldoni, while falsely pinning the blame for the smear campaign on her, despite her lack of involvement.

Jones’ lawyer, Kristen Toer, shared a statement with E! News, saying, “For months, this group has maligned Stephanie Jones and her company for financial gain, to settle personal scores, and most recently, to distract from their disgraceful smearing of Blake Lively.”

In response to Blake Lively’s accusations, Baldoni’s lawyer, Brian Fredman, called them “completely false, outrageous, and intentionally salacious,” with the aim to publicly hurt Baldoni and rehash a negative narrative in the media.

Blake Lively, in a statement to The New York Times, expressed her hope that her legal action would “pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct” and “help protect others who may be targeted.”
