Hey everyone, it’s Rachel Deita, and welcome back to the Courtside Club! Today, I’m jumping right into a serious rant because things have gotten way out of hand. I’ve been tagged in so many posts and clips this weekend, especially concerning Caitlin Clark’s interview with Time Magazine, and let me tell you—this whole situation is a mess. So buckle up because I’m not holding back.
First of all, thank you to everyone who has been following along with my 12 Days of Radm Miss series! We’re about halfway through, and I hope you’ve been enjoying the content. And just a reminder, half of the earnings from these videos will be donated to animal shelters here in Texas, so every like, comment, and share is much appreciated and goes to a great cause.
The most frustrating part is that these terrible takes are not just coming from random Twitter users, but from people who are involved in the WNBA. These people are creating a negative image for the league, and it’s really sad to see. The Mystics owner didn’t care if her comments hurt the league. In fact, I’m not even sure she’s aware of the damage she’s causing. The worst part? No one from the league has stepped up to address it except for Lexi Brown, who, by the way, has since made her tweets private—so who knows what kind of backlash she’s received for defending Caitlin Clark. At least someone had the guts to stand up for her.
As someone in the media—whether as a YouTuber, podcaster, or whatever you want to call me—I’m honestly starting to wonder if I should even keep bringing up these drama-filled stories. It’s gotten to the point where I’d rather argue with a wall than with some of these people online. It’s become exhausting. All I want to talk about is basketball, but unfortunately, it’s like the WNBA has turned into this never-ending soap opera. And the worst part is, it all stems from Caitlin Clark. She’s a fantastic player, but there are people out here who’ve completely lost their minds over her success.
I’ve made the decision to stop feeding into this nonsense. I’ve never been a fan of drama, and I don’t want it to be part of my content. There’s a time and place for discussing real issues, but when people are just being petty or throwing out baseless, hateful opinions, I’m done. It’s hurting the league, and it’s embarrassing for everyone involved. There are so many people out here just trying to tear each other down instead of uplifting the game.
Let me be crystal clear: Caitlin Clark deserves every award and accolade she’s received this season. She’s already one of the greatest women’s basketball players of all time, not just because of her on-court accomplishments, but because she’s brought a level of attention to the sport that we’ve never seen before. She’s done more for the WNBA and women’s basketball than many of these people making these ridiculous comments ever will.
And yet, some people still continue to stir the pot, making it about everything but basketball. Caitlin Clark, in her Time Magazine interview, did her best to calm things down. She explained that she doesn’t feel personally targeted and that she’s just dealing with the tough competition in the league. But instead of letting it go, people continue to twist her words, turning it into a battle that never needed to happen.
I’m choosing to stay out of it. This drama has gone on for far too long, and I’m not going to waste my energy arguing with people who refuse to see reason. I want my content to have meaning. I want to provide you with insights, stories that matter, and coverage of basketball that actually highlights the greatness of the players and the sport. I’m not here to scream about petty issues and fuel unnecessary fights.
I’m done with the drama. I’m done with the negativity. If you want that kind of content, you can find it elsewhere. But here at Courtside Club, we’re going to focus on the good, on the incredible players, and on the game itself. I’ll talk about the WNBA when there’s a meaningful discussion to be had, but I’m not giving air to the nonsense anymore.
Thanks for listening to my rant. If you agree, make sure to like this video and subscribe to the channel. I’ll be back with more basketball content soon, and I promise it will be quality over drama.
