Jiri Prochazka Reveals Heartfelt Reason For Sporting A Bald Look Ahead Of UFC 311 Fight

Jiri Prochazka is known for his eye-catching hairstyle, popularly known as ‘war hair.’ His hairs are an aspect that makes the Czech fighter stand out and have a unique appearance. However, come the UFC 311 pre fight presser, the UFC community was surprised to see Prochazka turn up with a bald head. With speculations going wild, the Czech samurai himself cleared the air.
As it turns out, Prochazka paid respect to one of his fans, Ashley McGarity. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer back in September 2024. Being a longtime fan of Prochazka, McGarity sported Prochazka’s ‘war hair’ before undergoing her treatment. Thus, when she started to lose her hair due to chemotherapy, it was Prochazka’s turn to pay homage.
“This hair was inspired by Ashley,” said Prochazka. “That girl, she’s fighting with cancer. She will come tomorrow. This is my showing solidarity because it’s about sending the good energy.”
The former UFC champion also pledged to make a significant donation to oncologist patients through his fund. And while he is putting up his human side on display, Prochazka is also ready for the final war.

Jiri Prochazka might have lost to Alex Pereira previously. But he is egging to have a go at the ‘final boss’ of the light heavyweight division. Speaking with Michael Bisping recently, the former UFC champion expressed his rejuvenated mental state to fight Alex Pereira.
“Maybe it can be funny for somebody but still I believe I can fight them and I can win the fight. It’s like in the game, just don’t give up. Find a way, how to overcome yourself. How to be better person, how to be better fighter, and find a way how to win. How to win this level, that’s all. Like you said I’m very glad that he showed me biggest mistakes,” said Prochazka.
However, before having a go at Pereira, the Samurai would need to focus on the job at hand. Going one on one against Jamahal Hill, Prochazka will be looking to come out with a dominant victory. However, with Hill eager for a revenge on Pereira too, Saturday’s matchup will surely be a banger.
