Since former UFC champion Conor McGregor was found guilty of sexual assault at a Dublin hotel in December 2018, he has been on a social media rant over other civil rape cases. Crystal Mangum, the woman involved in the infamous Duke lacrosse rape in 2006, recently admitted to falsely accusing the players. The 36-year-old MMA fighter wasted no time voicing his opinion on the latest update.

After accusing the Duke lacrosse players of rape 18 years ago during a team party, the convicted murderer confessed she made the whole thing up as she was craving recognition. “I testified falsely against them by saying that they raped me when they didn’t, and that was wrong, and I betrayed the trust of a lot of other people who believed in me. [I] made up a story that wasn’t true because I wanted validation from people and not from God,” Mangum stated.

Conor McGregor, who has been accused of sexual assault by Nikita Hand, intervened in the matter, sharing his perspective. While sharing a Fox News post on his Instagram handle, McGregor captioned, “It is an epidemic of sickness!”

McGregor’s accuser, Hand, was awarded nearly €250,000 (£208,000) in damages. A 12-person jury in Dublin found the Irish fighter and actor guilty of the sexual assault.

When Will Conor McGregor Return To UFC?

After losing three of his last four fights, the Irish MMA icon is yet to face an opponent. McGregor lost his previous two fights against Dustin Poirier and last fought in the UFC in July 2021. While he was touted to fight Michael Chandler at the UFC 303 in June, the “Road House” actor injured his toe in training.

Chandler went on to fight Charles Oliveira at UFC 309, leaving McGregor without an opponent. However, UFC CEO Dana White gave an update on the former two-division UFC champion last month. While his opponent hasn’t been fixed yet, White expects McGregor’s UFC return at the end of 2025.
