Ryan Reynolds has recalled a ‘sweet’ comment Taylor Swift made about being a godmother to his children with wife Blake Lively.
Blake, 37, married Ryan, 48, in 2012 and they have since welcomed four daughters – daughters James, nine, Inez, eight, and Betty, five, and son Olin, one.
For years, Blake has been a member of Taylor’s all-star Girl Squad, alongside the likes of supermodel Gigi Hadid and actress Zoe Kravitz.
Taylor released a song called Betty in 2020 in reference to Blake and Ryan’s chubby daughter, and the lyrics also included the names of James and Inez.
Now, Ryan has shared his reaction to the touching moment Taylor announced to the world that she was the godmother of his children.
The 34-year-old pop star broke the news in an Instagram post promoting Ryan’s latest blockbuster Deadpool &; Wolverine, which stars him and Hugh Jackman.

Recalling the social media comment, Ryan joked: “I actually need that on my tombstone” in an interview with Deadline.
In Taylor’s original post, she mentioned Deadpool by name, writing: ‘Shout out to Wade Wilson, aka the sperm donor to my godchildren!’
Looking back at the viral moment, Ryan shared that Taylor is ‘the godparent of my daughters,’ while not specifying whether she has a similar role in Olin’s life.
‘But yeah, that was sweet – not just sweet, but like – you can quantify the box office based on Taylor just doing something like that.’ Deadpool & Wolverine has indeed proven to be a huge success, surpassing the billion-dollar mark to become the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time.
Shawn Levy, who directed Ryan’s three recent films including Deadpool & Wolverine, has revealed that he is Olin’s godfather, according to Variety.
Blake appears in Deadpool & Wolverine as a character called Ladypool, with Inez also making a surprise cameo as Kidpool.
While the film was in theaters, Ryan posted a photo of him and Inez in costume on set, apparently chatting.

‘The only co-star I argue with. Most people think Kidpool is the dirtiest. But she’s also pretty good at talking back and never takes out the trash,’ he joked.
While Ryan is known for his constant witty one-liners in interviews and on social media, he has one famous neighbour who is less than impressed with his sense of humour.
‘He’s not funny in real life,’ Martha Stewart said on Bilt Rewards’ November Rent Free game show. ‘No, he’s not funny. He’s very serious.’
Martha, who has a farm near Ryan and Blake’s home in upstate New York, added: ‘He’s a good actor. He can be funny, but he’s not funny.’
Ryan responded on X, formerly Twitter, with a joke: ‘I don’t agree with her. But I tried it once. The woman was surprisingly quick. She actually closed the gap after about a mile.’
Sources said Ryan, who has been open about his battle with anxiety, prefers to ‘keep quiet rather than constantly be in the spotlight’ in his private life.
