For someone who loves working out, especially squats, I find them to be an essential exercise. However, when it comes to the most comprehensive benefit, I still choose squats as my go-to. That’s why when it comes to a favorite food, I always choose pizza—the classic that never goes out of style.
On strict diets, I find that my biggest disappointment is when I add carbs in the form of sweet potatoes. While I understand the benefits, I can’t really get enough of them. If I had to choose one food that I can’t eat on a diet, sweet potatoes would probably be at the top of the list.
On the training side, I love the burst of cardio I get, especially when it comes to hamstring and quad recovery. Running helps me feel my body develop clearly, and there is nothing like the feeling after each weightlifting session—the excitement, the satisfaction, the energy flowing through every cell. That is when I find relaxation, when I put my feet up on the bench, spend time playing with Cal, reading a book, or simply not thinking about work.
My biggest fear is probably losing Cal. There have been a few times when this has almost happened, and each time it has made me realize the importance of the moments together.
Although training can be difficult, the thought that “nothing is easy” helps me overcome my own limitations. Everyone has their own way of facing challenges, and I am no exception. It is important to listen to your body and learn from those who have truly experienced it. Working on my own way helps me enjoy every moment of this journey.
If I had to give up one food, it would definitely be sweets, not pizza or cheese. My Polar watch is a great companion on my runs, helping me estimate my calories burned and track my performance. Even though I know I can’t control everything, I don’t let myself worry about things I can’t change.
As for my workout music, I like variety. Sometimes it’s soft country tunes, other times it’s the powerful sounds of Disturbed. This keeps me motivated and ready for each new challenge.
