Henry Cavill seems to be verse-jumping as he was recently seen in DC’s rival franchise, the MCU’s Deadpool & Wolverine. The actor had a small cameo as a Wolverine variant a.k.a The Cavillrine in Deadpool & Wolverine. This came after his exit as Superman from the DCEU after James Gunn took over and chose to go with a new actor instead.

Cavill has headlined The Witcher, starred in Mission Impossible: Fallout, and has played Sherlock Holmes, making him a franchise-favorite actor. While the James Bond role seems to be elusive to him, the actor had expressed interest in being a part of another legendary franchise, provided a new film met his expectations.

George Lucas’ Star Wars is one of the biggest film franchises in the world. Revolutionizing pop culture for good in 1977, the franchise has seen nine films in the Skywalker Saga, two standalone films, and multiple Disney+ series. The $10.3 billion franchise has loads of fans within the industry itself, with many citing them as an inspiration to enter Hollywood.

When J.J. Abrams was tapped to helm a new trilogy for Star Wars after Lucas’ polarizing prequel trilogy, many actors offered up their services to be part of the legendary film series. Actors such as Steve Carrell, Ed Helms, David Cross, Amy Adams, and more mentioned that they would love even to have a small part in the upcoming films.

When asked if he was interested, Superman actor Henry Cavill mentioned that he was definitely a fan and would have to see a script if he were to join the films. Asked during a press junket for Man of Steel, the actor said,

I am a fan of them. I would have to read a script and speak to a director before I could possibly say if I’d be interested in being a movie it’s not as simple as you know. Yes, it’d be fun and ideal but what if the script sucks…you’ve got to keep your fingers crossed that it works.

The actor also mentioned that if the script was right and there was a director with a great vision attached to the film, he would definitely do it.
