HHT – Apple TV+’s action/spy film project “Argylle” officially released its first trailer, in which the appearance of “Superman” Henry Cavill and singer Dua Lipa attracted attention.
Argylle is an action/spy film revolving around the story of female writer Elly Conway (played by Bryce Dallas Howard). She once published a detective book called Argylle, which was well received and quickly became famous. However, trouble arises when the stories Elly wrote in the book accidentally happened in real life, making her the target of a hunt.
The strange incident forced Elly Conway to become a spy to help herself avoid being pursued by other subjects. From then on, Elly continuously encountered “difficult” situations, and at the same time she also had the opportunity to meet the “real” Argylle – a character she wrote herself.
Besides the novel plot, Argylle also attracted attention when it gathered famous stars such as: Catherine O’Hara, Henry Cavill , Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Samuel L Jackson, Bryce Dallas Howard, John Cena, Ariana DeBose… In particular, the appearance of DC’s Superman in this comeback made fans laugh, because the hairstyle “sealed” the actor’s beauty.
Not stopping there, Dua Lipa will also participate in this project. Argylle was predicted to be the singer’s first film, but because the release date was delayed, Barbie is the first film project that Dua Lipa participated in. Dua Lipa’s appearance is commented to be beautiful and attractive, not inferior to the female spies who have appeared on the screen.
At the WWDC event held by Apple in early March 2022, the technology company introduced to global fans the first images of the Argylle project . According to the plan, Argylle will be the first film opening a series of 3 different parts.
The first part of the film will be set in the US, London (UK) and many other locations around the world. To be able to carry out this project, Apple TV+ previously spent more than 200 million USD to buy the adaptation rights, and Argylle is expected to be the first part of the project.
The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn, who brought success to famous film series such as King’s Man, Kick-Ass, X-Men… In the trailer, it can be seen that the humorous style mixed with many brilliant action scenes is still applied by this British filmmaker with Argylle .
The film is scheduled to be released in February 2024.
