The male actor has flatly refused the “earnest plea” of his former colleague – Vin Diesel, declaring that “there is no chance of returning” to “Fast & Furious”.
In a recent interview with CNN , “Red Notice” star Dwayne Johnson said: “Last June, when Vin and I met in real life, I told him straight up that I would not be returning to do any new Fast episodes. I will always support the cast and really want the series to be more successful, but I no longer have the opportunity to return. I also talked privately with my partners at Universal, all of whom were very supportive because they understood the problem.”
According to the Hollywood Reporter , Dwayne Johnson admitted that he was “very surprised” by Diesel’s offer and called it “an example of manipulation.” He pointed out: “I didn’t like that he brought up his kids, and that he mentioned Paul Walker’s passing. They’re not related.
Diesel’s previous post read: “My brother Dwayne, it’s time. The world is waiting for the final installment of Fast 10. As you know, in my house, the kids call you Uncle. The holidays are almost over and you and the kids haven’t sent each other well wishes but it’s time. The legacy awaits. I told you years ago that I would fulfill my promise to Pablo (Paul Walker’s nickname). I vowed that we would do it and we will do it in Fast 10!”.
The two Hollywood action stars have long disliked each other due to disagreements at work. Dwayne Johnson once criticized Vin Diesel for being “unprofessional”. Besides, both are extremely hot-tempered.
The Fast & Furious series will end with just two more films – Fast 10 and Fast 11. However, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, also known as “The Giant and the Glass Heart” will no longer be seen in this dramatic racing blockbuster series. This will make millions of viewers of the blockbuster regretful.
