Dwayne Johnson goes to 7-Eleven where he stole as a kid to ‘make amends’-s

Dwayne Johnson, nicknamed “The Rock,” is making amends for his past mistakes.

Black Adam action star Dwayne Johnson shared a video on social media over the weekend documenting his recent visit to a 7-Eleven in Hawaii, where he bought up all of the store’s Snickers bars and let customers take them for free.

It wasn’t just a generous move, Dwayne Johnson (50) did it as an act of atonement.

The Oahu, Hawaii native explained that 36 years ago—when he was 14—he would go to the same 7-Eleven every day and steal a large Snickers on his way to the gym because he couldn’t afford one. “I was usually broke,” he explained in an Instagram post about his pre-workout snack, recalling that “a clerk there would always turn around and never catch me taking the candy.”

Months later, Johnson and his family left Hawaii. While he became a professional wrestler, he began a successful acting career in the years that followed. The theft always weighed heavily on his mind.

That’s what prompted Johnson to head to the convenience store. “Got to ‘make amends’ for coming home to Hawaii after all these years,” the actor wrote in an Instagram post .

Footage of Johnson’s quest for forgiveness shows the star clearing all the Snickers bars from the store’s shelves and taking them to the register to pay.

He also generously paid for others waiting to pay and took selfies with shoppers at 7-Eleven.

“Thank you so much. I appreciate it,” Johnson told the clerk. “If anyone looks like they’re going to steal Snickers, give them these so they don’t steal them.”

“We can’t change the past and some of the stupid things we may have done, but sometimes we should make amends when we can and give a big smile to strangers. I finally exorcised this damn ‘chocolate demon’ that had been eating at me for decades,” the actor said.

Of course, Johnson’s fans know that he’s well known for his good deeds, including supporting children with cancer and helping students with disabilities, among other charities. He even bought his mother a house this summer.

“When I was a little boy, I hated it when my mom cried. These days, I’m happy to take away her tears. I always say that if you have a good mother, you have a chance to be a good person,” Dwayne Johnson said in a touching social media post in June 2022.
