It seems Kelly Clarkson isn’t holding back when it comes to her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, in the visualizer for her new holiday album When Christmas Comes Around Again. Released on December 18, the video depicts a cozy holiday scene featuring a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, a roaring fireplace, and stockings hanging by the chimney. But a closer look at the stockings reveals an intriguing detail: four stockings labeled Mom, River, Remy, and Nope. The inclusion of “Nope” seems like a subtle dig at Brandon, suggesting that Kelly’s life is moving on without him.
Kelly, who shares two children—10-year-old daughter River and 8-year-old son Remington—with Brandon, married him in 2013. They tied the knot after dating when he was her talent manager. However, their marriage ended in June 2020 when Kelly filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Their divorce was finalized in March 2022 after a lengthy legal battle.
In her journey to move forward, Kelly has opened up about reentering the dating scene. During a radio interview with Los Angeles’ Coast 103.5, she admitted to being excited about the possibility of finding love again. “I was saying to my friend the other day, ‘Am I ever going to make out with anyone again?’ It sounds fun,” she said, emphasizing that she’s looking forward to the beginnings of a new relationship.
However, the American Idol winner is in no rush, as she’s working on her kids adjusting to the idea. “Both my kids are constantly bringing it up—’Please don’t be with anybody else, we don’t want you to be with anyone else,’” she shared. “I love you guys, but Mommy needs lovin’ too,” she reassured them, signaling that while her priority is her family, she also values her own happiness moving forward.
