After Daniel Craig fans want Henry Cavill to portray the next James Bond. The Argylle actor lost the race once but has won the favorite fan cast.

 

Multiple actors donned the iconic suit to portray the English spy, but no one did it like Daniel Craig. After appearing in five installments of the James Bond franchise, the Casino Royale actor announced his exit from the role.

Fan’s theory and speculations soon began on which actor would be worthy of taking on the mantle, and there was one unanimous decision. The Man of Steel, aka Henry Cavill came out as a winner of the online discourse on the next 007 agent. Although producers of the movie have disintegrated the boundaries of ethnicities for the role, Cavill could still bag the role.

Pierce Brosnan‘s GoldenEye showcased the charming actor in the role of an MI6 offer tasked with stopping a crime syndicate from acquiring a secret defense system. The film was directed by Martin Campbell who returned to the franchise when they were looking for a new lead.

The filmmaker revealed that the two top contenders for the role at the time were Daniel Craig and Henry Cavill. Although, the former ended up bagging the role Campbell was quite impressed with the Enola Holmes actor’s audition (via Express.co.uk).

He looked great in the audition. His acting was tremendous. And look, if Daniel didn’t exist Henry would have made an excellent Bond. He looked terrific, he was in great physical shape…very handsome, very chiselled.

If the Skyfall actor had backed off then the character would’ve surely ended in the hands of Cavill. Unfortunately, the then-22-year-old actor appeared to be too young to play the British Secret Service agent.

However, Craig announced his exit from the franchise after his last movie No Time to Die in 2021. Since then the search for the next Bond actor has been going rampant, both in the studios and online by fans.

 

The MCU actor or the former DC star?
Barbara Broccoli, the film’s producer was very clear in her requirements for the next lead. She discussed the short checklist during an interview with the Associated Press (via The Guardian).

It will be a man. He’ll likely be in his 30s. Whiteness is not a given.

The same report revealed that Aaron Taylor-Johnson was allegedly the top contender for the role. Several rumors also claimed that the Avengers: Age of Ultron actor had already been offered the coveted role but these went unconfirmed.

Others like Idris Elba and Theo James also stood out for the possible 007 but Cavill’s fans didn’t lose hope. With Craig out of the race, keyboard warriors have been rallying for the Argylle actor to be cast for the franchise (via The Pinnacle Gazette).

People are claiming that the former Superman star would be the best-suited for the role of the suave British agent. The Justice League actor’s impeccable physique and charming personality coupled with his undeniable desirability also led to this unanimous decision.

Cavill might have lost the battle against the Knives Out actor for the 2006 movie but his fans are determined he doesn’t lose the chance again. This time it’s possible that public support and popular demand might end up helping the Sand Castle actor win his desired role.
